In geometry we have been exploring 2D & 3D shapes, parallel and perpendicular lines. We have been exploring the properties of shapes and looking at the lines all around us.
In number work we have been looking at the connection between addition and subtraction and have created our own blank number lines to help us with our counting on and back.
In our topic of Solids, Liquids and Gasses we have been spending some time focusing on each matter and learning about the characteristics of each. Here are some of the science investigations we have explored:
We are learning about Non-Newtonian liquids.
We explored the viscosity of different liquids.
We created pneumatic systems, exploring what happens to compressed gas.
We investigated how we can affect air pressure.
We tested out if there is anything inside empty space by exploring if we could keep a tissue dry inside a glass lowered into water.
We explored what happens when you mix some liquids and solids together.
It was very intresting to find out what would happen if you mix vinagar with soda they would do the chemical compound. AIDEN AND MAJA ,CHARLIE B.

ReplyDeleteWhen I did it I found out about viscosity. Some things have a high viscosity and some have a low viscosity.by Jamie r.
ReplyDeleteWe liked the experiment with the bottle , balloon , distilled vinegar and bicarbonate of soda and it looked cool when the balloon started blowing up. By Dean, Ewan and Jamie M.
ReplyDeleteWe think it is really interesting learning about gases around the world. We used vinegar and soda and also water to make the balloon to blow up.Niall Christopher
ReplyDeleteIt was so fun doing the experiment. We have learned that Solids can only change their shape if you out pressure on them. By Charlotte, Kymberleigh and Sam

ReplyDeletewe had loads of fun investigating solids liquids and gases.
ReplyDeletefrom sienna ,Freya and Olivia .
We were investigating what happens when we combine solids, liquids and gases. We learned that molecules in gas can spread everywhere trying to escape. The balloon was in the way so it blows up. Ethan and Charlie M
ReplyDeleteWhen we did the task we found out if you mix something with high viscosity with low viscosity it will fizz up or something else.By Robert and Charlie B
ReplyDeleteWe did a science project about vinegar, soda and a water bottle. We put the vinegar in the bottle and we put soda in a balloon and then we put the balloon on the water bottle and then we put the soda in the water bottle then the balloon blew up. Johnny and Cody
ReplyDeleteI thought that it was really exiting funny too. When it fizzed up and the balloon filled up with air it looked very funny. karla.
